In early spring, the School Committee in each of the four districts holds a public hearing about School Choice. Please complete an application for the next school year.
MATTAPOISETT SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Mattapoisett School Committee met on April 30, 2024 and voted to participate in the School Choice Program for the 2024-2025 school year. The School Committee voted to maintain the maximum number of school choice slots of fourteen (14) students with preference given to grades 1st through 3rd. A blind lottery was held on May 7, 2024. A waitlist was formed and applicants may still be added to the waitlist.
OLD ROCHESTER REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Old Rochester Regional School Committee met on April 11, 2024 and voted to participate in the School Choice Program for the 2024-2025 school year. The School Committee voted to maintain the maximum number of school choice slots of one hundred and twenty-five (125) students in grades 7th through 12th for the 2024-2025 school year, capping 7th grade at 12 (twelve) new school choice students, capping 8th grade at 13 (thirteen) new school choice students and capping 9th grade at 10 (ten) new school choice students. The blind lottery was held April 23, 2024. A waitlist was formed. A second school choice lottery was held on Tuesday, September 17th for all applications received after April 23rd in grades 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12. Grade 9 is full. Applications for 2025-2026 will open in the winter.
Rochester School District (grades K-6) and Marion School District (grades K-6) elected not to participate in school choice for the 24-25 school year.
